Bariatric Surgery Support Groups
Bariatric surgery is much more than a band being placed around the stomach or the rerouting of the gastric tract. It is a lifelong commitment to a change in diet and lifestyle and requires a constant determination to be healthy. That commitment and determination is often the difference between success and failure.
Dr. Baptista and the staff here at Florida Surgical Physicians place an emphasis on post-surgical care and part of the success of that care relies on our patients participation. We spend a significant amount of time meeting with each patient post-op - there will be several adjustments to your band along with meetings to discuss weight achievements, diet and lifestyle. However sometimes, especially shortly after surgery, patients may need more comfort and reassurance. This can often be found by connecting with people who were in their same position not too long ago or who find themselves in the same part of their own weight loss journey. For that very reason we have created a forum in which current and former patients can discuss their achievements, difficulties, joys and pains all with a bariatric coordinator from our office available to answer any questions.
We hold these forums once a month. And our next forum beings March 15th at 2pm. Click the link below to access that forum on the previously mentioned day and time:
